CNC Machining of Steel Weld Collet Assemblies for the Automotive Industry
An automotive industry customer needed specialized fixturing for one of their manufacturing lines. These precision CNC machined, steel weld collet assemblies where designed to hold parts for a fuel delivery system during manufacturing. Composed of carbon and tool steel, the assemblies measured 8.00” x 4.00” x 3.00”, and required CNC milling and turning and.
Components where machined on our state of the art CNC machining centers and lathes, which allowed us to hold to tolerances of ±.0002”, and apply a 16 RMS finish. The eight finished pieces where put through rigorous quality control and inspections before and after assembly.
